Devising – creating together from scratch

Devising is about creating (writing, acting, directing) and staging a new play by inventing everything from scratch in a cooperative, democratic group process.

It can be used to explore all topics you can imagine.

It is also about a basic introduction in creative democratic cooperation and drama improvisation.

The course

5 sessions à 3 hours (for school, uni and public) of a “meta”-course where you learn how to do it and how to teach/practice it with a school class, students etc.

  2. Roles, characters, and acting techniques in relation to intersectionality: gender, class etc
  3. Directing tools: space, time, relations, costumes and materials
  4. Devising a play: creating art
  5. Performance and reflections

This course and training is inspired by a university course at Stockholm University which is an important ingredient in the teacher education program (all ages).
